Christmas Dinner at the Red Lion - Friday 2nd December 2011, 7:30pm
We are holding our Christmas Dinner this year at the Red Lion Pub in Woolmer Green. The menu consists of Cream of Tomato Soup, Beef and Turkey Carvery with all the trimings (including a vegetarian option) and a choice of dessert. 1 course £8.95, 2 courses £12 or 3 courses £15. Please phone Sarah on 01438 237628 to confirm your place.
Numbers need to be confirmed to the pub by latest 20th November so please can you let Sarah know asap if you will be able to join us..

Summer Social Tournaments 2011
Thanks go to Adriene and Jon for arranging the very successful series of social tournaments throughout the summer.
Swingers Cup Tournament - 18th Sept 2011
Tournment organiser Adriene takes home the Swingers Cup after a lovely afternoon of tennis on the newly refurbished courts. The now infamous 'Stevenson Gazebo' was in attendance sheltering an array of cakes and refreshment goodies which were heartily consumed after the tournament.
New Fencing & Court Maintenance Completed
The new fencing has now been erected, both sets of courts have been professionally cleaned and all 4 courts have been repainted. This maintenance work has made a vast improvement to the club and the playing experience. Thanks to all who have helped get this implemented.
Fire Destroys Club Hut
Unfortunately the Club Hut has been completely destroyed by a suspected arson attack. If anyone has further information please email the club or phone the Police on 101 (new non emergency contact number).
Tea and Cake Stall (Village Fete) - 18th June
Thank you to Sarah McKie, her helpers and to all the members who supplied cakes for our stall at the village fete. A healthy profit was made for the clubs funds.
Quiz Night - 21st May
A very successful Quiz Night was held on Saturday 21st May at the Parish Centre. A much appreciated Ploughman's Supper was enjoyed by all. Many thanks to Geertje and her team for organising this event. A profit of around £230 was made for the club.
100+ Tournament - 22nd May
The winners were Sarah McKie and Peter Ratcliffe and the runners up were Phyllis Stevens and Serge Dronov. Seven pairs in total took part and a super tea was provided afterwards. It was good to see some new members participating as well. Thanks to John Spiers for organising this annual event.
Matches
Winter League
The Winter League runs from January through to March. Knebworth normally enter 2 teams into this league.
Datchworth Summer League
The Datchworth Summer League runs from April through to August each year. Knebworth enter a number of teams (5 in 2010). Please let Ian Hall know if you are interested in playing.
Datchworth Autumn League
The Datchworth Autumn League runs from September through to November.

Club Sessions
Clubnights are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 18:30 to dusk.
Daytime sessions are on Wednesday from 14:00, Friday from 10:00 and Sunday from 14:00 (all year round).
No need to book for any of these club sessions - just turn up.
Please note that juniors have priority on all courts from 16:30 on Friday nights.

There is a Social Tournament once or twice a month. See the diary dates for confirmation of dates.
